I PERFORM MUSIC

All kinds of music.
But I specialize in new music by living composers.
Sometimes I wrote it (or co-wrote it with Martin Torch-Ishii)

Written & Performed by Martin Torch-Ishii & Eric Moore (2014)
Sheet Music Available here.

& COMMISSION COMPOSERS TO WRITE NEW MUSIC

I recently held a Call for Scores to expand the repertoire for Cello & Horn, Cello & Harp, and Cello & Percussion.

Composing for Cello.jpg

I COMPOSE MUSIC

I've written and recorded documentary music, a cello concerto, cello duos, solo cello music, even a duo for flute&bassoon. I put some of it up on Soundcloud.

AND PUBLISH MUSIC

Like an edition of the Popper Etudes co-edited with Richard Aaron (University of Michigan, the Juilliard School).

And a new edition of the Franchomme Etudes with second cello accompaniment.

And a comprehensive Rhythm Workbook for any instrument by my mother, Kathy Bundock Moore.

INCLUDING MY OWN ARRANGEMENTS

Like music by System of a Down for 5 cellos and 8 cellos.

And Single-Cello Accompaniments for cello music that used to need a piano to accompany.

And educational materials like Bartok's Mikrokosmos as a sight-reading volume for two cellos.

AND COMPOSITIONS

Like my Cello Concerto for an advanced high school cellist to play with his/her own orchestra.

And four Cello Duos written with Martin Torch-Ishii.

CELLOSOPHY

I ALSO DEVELOPED A COMPREHENSIVE CELLO METHOD

So... I kind of Kickstarted a cello method with 94 backers(?!)
Volume 1 is out. Its supplemental iPad app is in beta.

Including the 1300+ music theory problems and a scales compendium, it's more than 100 pages long and includes music from Hildegard von Bingen (a 12th-century nun) all the way up to a new piece I commissioned from Daniel Pesca (University of Chicago).

Volume 2 is in its final stages. I'm working with students through my Volume 10 right now so there will be many, many volumes in the future.

& HAVE TAUGHT SUMMER CAMPS IN SAN DIEGO AND ANN ARBOR

With Martin Torch-Ishii & his father Ken Ishii.
Stay tuned for upcoming camps!

I CO-FOUNDED A MUSIC EDUCATION
APP COMPANY

It's call Music Loft Apps and I started it with Joseph Hosford, a real neat guy.

Our first App was Nome, a free minimal metronome
Our second App was Pheremin, a whacky music-maker
Our third App is Pitchronome, a simple & elegant Tuner - Metronome - Drone
